New verses by P6/7, Tune : The original

We sent her for cheese, oh aye, oh aye

We sent her for cheese, oh aye, oh aye

We sent her for cheese, an she fell an skint her knees

Oh, the warld must bi comin tae an end, oh aye

We sent her for a biscuit

But she didny want tae risk it

We sent her for pizza

She brought back a fajita

She wanted a Red Bull

But it made her late for school

We sent her for chicken

An it wisny finger lickin

We sent her for steak pie

But a Scotch een caught her eye

We sent her for an apple

But it got stuck in her thrapple

We sent her for hens

But she ran aff wi her friends

We sent her for a neep

But she cam back wi a jeep

We sent her through the glen

And we never saw her again

Cause we sent her for mince

An we havny seen her since

An we sent her for spaghetti

She got eaten by a yeti

Oh, the warld must bi comin tae an end, oh aye

THE HORROR OF KNOCK CASTLE

[By P6/7, Tune : Johnnie O Breadislie]

Six sons frae the Castle o Knock

were oot digging peat

Spak o their brither that wis slain

Left lyin fite as a sheet

Left lyin fite as a sheet

He’s gaen tae Strathgirnoc ha

Speired for the haun o his dochter

auld Forbes got in a furious rage

An wi his sword did slauch-ter

An wi his sword did slauchter

Alang cam auld Forbes an his men

An his servant Walter McGrory

An they’ve sliced six heads aff their shouder banes

An the peat wis soggy, gory

An the peat wis soggy, gory

They stabbed their spades intae the peat

Impaled the heads on top

An the six sons een were glaring oot

A maist uncanny crop, crop

A maist uncanny crop

Auld Forbes wis hung at his ain ha door

An they ripped his hoose tae shreds

Fer revenge an fair justice

Fer the seiven chapped aff heads

Fer the seiven chapped aff heads

This happened in the 16th Century. Alexander Forbes of Strathgirnoc and his men had killed the seven sons of Henry Gordon of Knock, and their father had fallen down stairs on the news and broken his neck. Black Alister Gordon of Abergeldie came and surrounded Strathgirnoc Castle, and Alexander Forbes and his accomplice Wattie McGrory were hung from the castle rafters. There is now no trace of Strathgirnoc Castle.
